Hosts dosyası bilgisayarınızın ip defteridir denilebilir. Peki ne işe yarar, bir web sitesine girmek istediğinizde bilgisayarınız ilk iş olarak Hosts dosyasına bakar. Sitenin ip adresi Hosts dosyanızın içinde var ise o adresi kullanır yok ise internet servis sağlayıcınızdan ip numarası ister. Hosts dosyası ile istediğiniz ip aralığını engelleyebilirsiniz.
